The most basic part of our health is our nutrition, thus our health foundation. This is where is all starts good health verses bad health. I have never observed any area of life more important yet more confusing. The supposed experts do not agree and can’t even give you an answer that makes sense. It has been a long and difficult journey to find out the key components of a healthy diet. I am going to keep this simple but it is not easy to achieve. If it grows on planet earth or eats the plants that grow on planet earth without mans interference ( more on this later) Than it would be considered the best food source. Mans interference would be genetic modification , the use of any chemicals in the growing of such food, harvesting of such food or preparation of food. So organically grown food, wild caught game, range fed, cage free are all good sources of food. This is where a strong health foundation starts. Preparing the food is the next most important part and this is in your control. Raw is best, steamed is good, sauteing is fair and cooking beyond this point, well why bother. As far as meat goes The rawer the better. If you are eating such poor quality meats that you have to cook all life out of it than you need to find another source of meat. Rare as you can stand is good and well done than why bother Because you probably won’t be able to digest it. If the product is refined, milled, processed, pasteurized, aerated, radiated, bleached, injected than it becomes something other than food, and will weaken your health foundation.
Nutrition is the foundation of your health, be it good nutrition or bad. If your health is poor it all started with your poor nutrition. If you enjoy vibrant energetic good health it started with your good nutrition. I am always amazed when a patient comes in for help with Type II diabetes and acts like they have been victimized by the health gods on one hand and assume zero responsibility for their current heath status on the other. What we put in our mouths does have an effect on our health. To this day I have never had anyone force me to eat anything and I assume full responsibility for my health condition. When I was younger and less educated and didn’t know what to eat I regularly eat poorly. When my health started slipping I realized I needed to change my ways if I wanted to live to a healthy ripe old age. So I Did a little research to find out what a healthy diet would include. My Mom was right I should eat my vegetables and fruits. Now I wonder Why she didn’t. You see My mom died at the young age of 50 from breast cancer As a child I Don’t remember much about my moms diet other than her eating a lot of sugar in the form of cookies cakes and candies especially during the holidays. I know all of the abuse I have put this body through and it is still ticking and compared to most people my age they must have been more abusive to their body than I have. Or maybe the reason is that the body is so resilient that a little bit of good nutrition is all that is needed To recover from all ills and feel better than I have my entire life.
Nutrition is the fuel of the body. Nutrition is the building blocks for the body.
